Tackle climate change as an organisation

Every organization has its own mission. But all organizations can pursue that mission in a way that helps to bring about a low-carbon future.

Charities and churches do this because climate change impacts their core aims. For example, relief agencies see how climate change impacts people in poor countries. Churches see how it harms God's creation and hurts their neighbours.

Forward-thinking businesses will be concerned about the future of the planet, but will also adapt to climate change to maximize their value. Opportunities include increased revenues from low-carbon products, cost savings, efficiency gains, better risk management, and improved reputation. A McKinsey report says: ‘The winners will be companies that reposition to seize the opportunities of a low-carbon future.’

A typical organizational strategy will have three strands:

  1. Efficient energy use to reduce emissions & save money. Offset emissions that remain.
  2. Plan for your organization to succeed in the low-carbon future.
  3. Promote sustainability to staff, customers, suppliers and supporters.

Climate Stewards has worked with a number of large and small organizations and would love to talk to you. As a charity we do not charge commercial rates, but we do aim to meet the highest standards of efficiency and professionalism. Please use the form (left) to contact us.
