Reasons to do it

1. You can do it NOW
2. Shows you are serious
3. Trees absorb CO₂
4. Food security in Africa
5. Habitat for wildlife
6. Inspires your friends
7. Spreads your giving
8. Helps us plan
9. Supports tropical forests

Reason not to do it

1. An excuse for inaction

Climate change in Africa means floods, droughts and hunger. Trees help by sheltering crops, improving land, reducing erosion and protecting wildlife. They also lock up CO₂ which causes climate change.

Climate Stewards is planting trees in Ghana which has lost a third of its forest in 30 years.

£10/month plants enough trees in a year to lock up 12 tonnes of CO₂  - a little more than the average emissions of each person in the UK.

Giving regularly to plant trees shows you care and that you are serious. But though trees are brilliant they are not enough. We must also...

Start learning to live better on low carbon

Consumerism uses a lot of energy which we get by burning oil, gas and coal. This puts extra CO₂ into the air, which warms the planet.

Our lifestyle does not just change the climate. It also hurts us by causing debt, stress, damaged relationships and even war!

We need to learn to live better on low-carbon. Our vision is a more fulfilling life which uses less energy, not a joyless existence driven by guilt.

Humanity is at the start of knowing how to do this, and it will be a long journey. To find out more click here.

We can't do this by ourselves. One of the most important things we can do is...

Invite others to join you on the journey

Climate change is caused by the ordinary things we all do, the way we live. Tackling it has to involve everyone.

Encouraging others to join in has an even bigger impact than reducing our own emissions. Every action we take should look like an invitation, not an accusation.

Be positive. Hope is more persuasive than fear. Inspiration works better than nagging.

Make encouraging others a way of life. You can start now.
